Terms of Service
Effective May 11, 2026
1. Acceptance of these Terms
By installing or using Depthlock (the "App"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not install or use the App.
2. The App
Depthlock is an iOS application that lets you preview images as iOS lock-screen wallpapers with the depth effect already applied. Image browsing is performed on your device against sources you configure (an on-device folder, a Photos album, a Google Drive folder, the TMDB movie poster catalog, or bundled sample images). The App does not maintain a server-side account or store your data on the developer's behalf.
3. License to use
Subject to these Terms, you are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on devices you own or control. You may not reverse-engineer the App except where applicable law expressly permits; redistribute, sublicense, sell, or rent the App; or remove proprietary notices.
4. Your responsibilities
- Your credentials. When you connect Google Drive, the Gemini API, or TMDB, you are responsible for safeguarding the tokens and keys you provide. The App stores them only on your device.
- Content rights. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to view, save, and (if applicable) use as wallpaper any image you load into the App. Saving an image to Photos or setting it as your wallpaper does not transfer ownership of that image to you. Don't use the App to handle content you don't have the right to access.
- Third-party terms. Using the App with Google Drive, the Gemini API, or TMDB requires you to also comply with those providers' terms. The App is a client only; you are the principal in those provider relationships.
- Lawful use. Don't use the App to violate any law, regulation, or third party's rights.
5. Third-party services
The App offers optional integrations with third-party services. Those services are operated independently by their respective providers and are subject to their own terms and privacy policies:
- Google Drive — Google Terms of Service.
- Google Gemini API — Gemini API Additional Terms of Service.
- The Movie Database (TMDB) — TMDB Terms of Use. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
- Apple Photos — governed by the iOS system terms.
The developer of the App is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, content, or practices of those third-party services. Your use of those services through the App is at your own discretion and risk.
6. Intellectual property
The App, its UI, source code, and original brand assets are the property of the developer or its licensors. Images you browse, view, and save through the App belong to their respective rights holders. Nothing in these Terms grants you any rights in any third-party content displayed through the App.
7. No warranty
The App is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including, without limitation, warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted operation. The depth-effect preview is an approximation of iOS's lock-screen behavior; it may not exactly match what your device renders after you save and set the image as wallpaper.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer of the App will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the App. The developer's aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the App will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid for the App in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) USD $5.
9. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it from your device. The developer may also suspend or discontinue the App, or any part of it, at any time without prior notice. Sections 4, 6, 7, 8, and 11 survive termination.
10. Changes to these Terms
If these Terms change materially, the effective date at the top of this page will be updated and a description of the change will be noted here. Continued use of the App after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer resides, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute will be brought exclusively in the courts of that jurisdiction, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
12. Contact
For questions about these Terms, please reach out via the App's GitHub repository or the contact information on the homepage.
